Could be wrong but I thought the idea of a ventilation shaft on Wandsworth Common had been defeated a while back? But NOT according to todays ward councillor email (see extract below). It appears Crossrail now wants to build a 'head-house' on the common at the top of Honeywell Road. This +2-storey structure would have a footprint of some 6,700ft2. That's probably quite big and as a NIMBY not happy to have that in my back yard.
Objections can be filed before the 8th Jan 2016 as detailed below.
Following extract from the Northcote Ward e-bulletin Nov-15:
"...Under this latest proposal a ventilation & access shaft would be constructed on the edge of Wandsworth Common opposite the junction of Honeywell Road and Bolingbroke Grove. See the 'Wimbledon to Clapham Junction' fact sheet below. On completion of the works at such a shaft site an above-ground structure, called a “head-house”, remains in situ. Such a building is usually at least 2 storeys high and occupies an area of about 25m x 25m. For examples of a “green design” and a heritage design at other sites see

We have asked TfL to arrange an additional event in Northcote ward near the proposed site for a shaft but to date they have not agreed to do so.
Responses to the consultation, which closes on 8th January 2016, can be made through the website

PS, I can't imagine the construction works will be much fun either.
