We are delighted to be introducing additional dance classes at VBDance Balham St Marks Church Hall, Rowfant Road from January 2014 for girls and boys from 2 years and upwards (Ballet) and 4yrs and upwards (Tap & Funky Jazz).
Our Ballet classes for pre schoolers are based on our own syllabus designed especially for young children. The classes provide an introduction to Ballet allowing children to be expressive, creative and imaginative. We use a mixture of classical music and fun songs to encourage children to learn basic steps such as skipping, galloping and walking on toes as well as positions of the feet and varying dynamics of movement. We have a treasure chest bursting with fairy wands, tutus, capes, scarves, masks and musical instruments which the children enjoy dancing with too! As well as the main class teacher there is a class assistant available as well.
Our Tap and Jazz classes are lots of fun and very energetic. Younger students discover how to perform basic steps and beats through rhythmical games, technical exercises and watching each other perform.
Classes are held weekly during term time and parents are also invited to observe ‘open classes’ at the end of each term which is a great way to celebrate personal achievements.
Teachers are qualified and experienced ISTD & RAD Dance teachers with professional performance experience.
