We are looking for an au pair to be part of our family living in Clapham South, London to help look after our 2 children - a 4-year-old girl called Coco and a 2-year-old boy called Louis.
We live near to Clapham Common which is a wonderful park with a lot of green open spaces.
You will have your own bedroom (double bed) and bathroom with wifi/internet access on your own floor in the house. We would like you to work an average of 35-40 hours per week. Ideally you would also babysit each week – possibly 1 week night and 1 weekend night. Ben (the dad) works full time and Natalie (the mum) works part time – Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. During the school holidays the hours would increase and during term time it would be offset while they are at school / nursery.
Coco starts school in September and we need help taking/picking her up. Louis will start nursery in September - 5 mornings a week. A draft schedule is below and your hours will likely vary a bit each week.
The babysitting will be agreed on a weekly basis (although we will likely know dates in advance of that).
Duties and responsibilities
Your main responsibilities are to help us with looking after both the children and doing some light housework and can include the following:
• Helping get the children up, give them breakfast and clear up
• Dropping Coco at school and collecting her (8.30am – 3.15pm)
• Dropping Louis at nursery and collecting him (8.45am – 12pm)
• Taking them out to activities and playgroups, entertaining the children at home and out
• Preparing meals for the children
• Bathing the children and sometimes putting them to bed
Other duties will include but not be limited to:
• NO CLEANING required as we have a cleaner but general help to keep on top of the mess in the kitchen, sitting room and the children’s bedrooms. This will involve loading / emptying the dishwasher, washing up, cleaning the kitchen surfaces, tidying away toys, laundry.
• Running errands such as going to the supermarket, dry cleaners, Post Office etc.
We are a fun loving, warm and friendly family. We would very much like someone to be part of our life and most importantly have a positive, fun loving influence on our two children. We are looking for someone who is outgoing and sporty, with a sense of adventure. Someone who will have fun and enjoy looking after Coco & Louis whilst helping them to develop and keeping them safe.
We in a safe and friendly area with a real community atmosphere. We have great connections to trains, the tube, buses and airports. Central London is really close but we are surrounded by green spaces.
