On Wednesday 6th February we were incredibly proud to be awarded the LabelFrancÉducation quality seal by the French Ambassador himself, Mr Jean-Pierre Jouyet, for our exceptional bilingual stream. This is particularly special as we are the first school in the UK to receive this accolade.
Mr Jouyet praised the school’s innovative approach of providing bilingual education based on a national curriculum, drawing special attention to the many benefits of bilingualism, before congratulating the Headteacher, teachers, governors and all members of staff, parents and pupils for this achievement which shows a “commitment to excellence in education, inclusion, multilingualism, and French in the UK”.

“Research has shown that bilingual individuals have better control over their attention, manage information more efficiently, and have a greater ability to choose, organise, plan and deal with change. People speaking several languages show greater mobility, greater ability to adapt, tend to make more successful choices, and have better career opportunities. Who would not want these skills for their children?”
We were also overjoyed to have been awarded the British Council’s prestigious International School Award in recognition of our outstanding International Primary Curriculum which seeks to bring the world into the classroom. We are rightly proud of this aspect of our school which is helping all our pupils to become truly global citizens, gaining the cultural understanding and developing the skills necessary for successful lives and careers in an increasingly global and interconnected world.
