Clapham to have a new school - London Park School in September 2023 Post Reply

Delighted to share the exciting news that Clapham will soon have a new school - London Park School - which will open in September 2023 on the former Oliver House School site. 

Pupils and Staff from Northwood Senior will move to the new site in September 2023 and form the founding cohort of London Park School (LPS). LPS will provide an outstanding, innovative, forward-thinking education for 21st century students. Pupil wellbeing, character education, financial literacy, sustainability and SEND provision will be central to the LPS ethos. 

Suzie Longstaff, currently Head of Putney High School, GDST will be the founding Principal of London Park School, eventually establishing the new school across a select number of central London sites north and south of the river. 

LPS Clapham, will have its own local character and identity guided by its own Head, Paul Vanni, alongside Susan Brooks, current Head of Northwood Senior who will be Senior Deputy. Paul brings experience from St Paul's School, St Paul's Girl's School and Kensington Park School and will work closely with Suzie to develop the ethos and values of the new school over the coming months.

What age is the school for? Given the reference to Northwood Senior pupils and the staff mentioned, I assume secondary. But is it 11 or 13 entry? Is it co-ed or single sex?

It's going to work hard to compete will all the amazing, established, London Day schools around us. Will be interesting to see how the first few years evolve.

This is amazing news! First Thomas's senior school and now this. It certainly helps with the anxiety surrounding the 11+ process to have more options.
