Rangecooker - electric circuit advise Post Reply

Hello!

I am in the middle of a kitchen refurbishment and I will be replacing a gas oven with a dual range range cooker.

One installer told me that I need to have a separate electric circuit for the rangecooker due to the high power consumption, but another installer told me that there’s no need to.

Any thoughts? What have you guys done?

I'm pretty sure you need a 30 amp circuit for an electric cooker - you certainly can't run it off the standard 13 amp power circuit.  And even if it isn't mandatory it would be sensible to have it on its own circuit, with its own circuit breaker, rather than sharing with other appliances otherwise a cooker fault could take out a lot else too.  But ask a qualified electrician.
