Dog walker in Clapham South

Postby RB82_ » Sun Jul 24, 2022 2:40 pm

Hi all!
New family moving to Clapham South in September and looking for a dog walker to walk our lovely French bulldog 3 days a week for 1 hour each.
If anyone can share recommendations that would be hugely appreciated!
Thanks!

Hi there,

My name is Tiérnán and my neighbour (Who’s dog I look after) has shared your post with me. .

I live right on the edge of the common and have been a dog owner all my life. I’ve been looking after neighbours dogs regularly and have become good friends with them which has been a great added bonus! I would be happy to meet with you when you arrive to have a meet and great, should you need my services.

Have a great day and look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,
Tiérnán

Hi, we are looking for day care for our 2 year old cocker spaniel for 1-2 days a week (Tuesdays and/or Thursdays). We live in Balham. Is that something you’d be able to help with? Marina

Hi - without wanting to scupper any potentially wonderful encounters between pooches and part time carers, just wanted to alert anyone looking for dog care that both Wandsworth and Lambeth are currently reviewing their animal welfare permit parameters.

This is in the wake of the horrific death of the young dog walker in Caterham last month. Anyone walking four or more dogs needs to have (& pay for) the correct licence and permits and most responsible dog walkers/boarders should also be able to show you fully comprehensive insurance?

Please make sure you check out the premises where your family pet will be housed during the periods that you can't care for them. Do also bear in mind that you will have no control whatsoever over the pack mentality if you are leaving them with a walker/carer who is looking after several animals at the same time? We found this out to our cost not long ago?

Again, sorry to strike a negative note, but the potential for injury - and worse - to your beloved pet is significant, particularly if the council has, for whatever reason, not given your chosen walker the appropriate permits? Good luck!
