Kitchen surface suggestions please.

Postby new to nappies » Thu Jan 05, 2023 4:27 pm

I am finally planning a new kitchen. So much choice out there. I love modern but not super contemporary. Could anyone suggest a surface that they could recommend. We currently have corian which I love but it doesn't seem to be massively on trend just now? I am not a fab of the black granite but can't get my head around the composites? All suggestions of what is durable but looks modern gratefully received.

Thanks! Happy New Year!

Why does it have to be "on trend"...? Why not go with something you love?

We have a composite. Not sure why you can’t get your head around them? They look like marble but are much more durable - you can put anything on them including hot pans. You can cut on them without scratching. They don’t stain. Look fab. What’s not to like? We’ve had ours for over nine years and it still looks great.

We started our kitchen refurb at the end of Feb 2020 and unwittingly found ourselves in a race to get “enough” done before a potential lockdown was announced. Plans for Silestone/ granite etc were quickly changed to what can I buy online and cut on site. We went with Duropal 22mm Carrera marble (laminate) and it’s honestly been terrific. We’ve gotten so many compliments and it has held up so well I would happily buy it again.

I can highly recommend Neolith ceramic worktops, stain, scratch and heat resistant. Visit Kitchen Revolutions in Raynes Park they have it on display and can advise you and give you more options, whether on-trend or traditional or to your taste!
I hope this helps
