From the 4th – 12th May 2019, London ExCeL will play host to Grand Designs Live; bringing the height of home and design innovation to London for the 14th year running.
The show will boast a range of new exhibitors and features, as well as all the usual favourites, with design guru and TV broadcaster, Kevin McCloud leading the event. Whether you are starting out on your first renovation, building a new home, redecorating a room, installing a new kitchen or simply looking for ideas, Grand Designs Live is the must-visit event for anyone wanting to learn about the world of interiors, design and self-build.

A myriad of new features for adults and kids to explore...
Wildlife Forest
A Wildlife forest will be created at to show visitors how and where to create wildlife friendly environments in whatever outdoor space they have to work with. Visitors will be invited to take regional wildflower seeds away with them to plant and create their own wildlife friendly environment; then print their fingerprint on a map of the UK to indicate where they live; producing a visual and interactive map of where people are supporting the cause. Charity Partner, Friends of The Earth will also provide interactive workshops and demonstrations throughout the show, including the construction of wildlife hotels and a Nature quiz.
Under the Stairs Project
Will see eight interior designers showcase bespoke installations, using a commonly neglected area in the home, the space under the stairs, giving visitors the opportunity to browse and pick up inspirations for their own mini grand designs. Judges for this exciting new competition will include Kevin McCloud, Barbara Chandler of Evening Standard and Jenny Gibbs from the KLC School of Design, the winner will be announced at the Grand Theatre. Eco-minded visitors will also find an all-new area of the show focused on the art of upcycling; showcasing a platform for skilled upcycling designers to give insight into their craft. Visitors can also purchase unique up-cycled pieces for the six companies who have been given bursaries to exhibit. Upclclists include:
• Ray Clarke – an upholsterer and soft furnisher based in east London providing a range of upholstery services, creating bespoke upholstery, re-upholstery and soft furnishings using a range of traditional or modern techniques and materials.
• MuckNbrass (Zoe Pocock) - Zoe is a businesswoman, upcycler, designer, and presenter of the Cbeebies show, Junk Rescue. Muck n Brass specialises in sustainably reusing household items and furniture by upcycling them without compromising on design and style.
• Albert+Edward – Using relics and collectables from a bygone age, Albert+Edward will upcycle them into amazing lighting features.
• Marcie K Designs – Using bright colours, intricate designs and contrasting styles; designer Marcie creates unique, draw-dropping furniture from what other would consider ‘rubbish’.
