Could any one recommend an electrician who could fix one ring on my hob and charge me less than calling out the manufacturers?!

We have used both Philip at Balham Electrical Services and DB Electricals.

I think for the job that you are looking to have done Philip may make more sense to use.

However, when we had some more heavy duty work to be done we found he did a poor job and was generally disinterested in doing the work. His business model seems to be to do lots of small 1-2 hour emergency type jobs and not work more than 5-6 hours a day. That is fine and I don't begrudge him it at all - I just wish he had been upfront with us on this when we looked to have him do a job for us.

After the issues, we got DB Electricals to take over the job and we found them very good.
