Can anybody recommend a personal trainer and a good detox?

Postby Muddlemoo » Thu Dec 19, 2013 7:36 pm

Hi all

My 40th is looming and I would like to do a detox at the beginning of jan for a few days. I've heard the smoothie ones are quite good...?

Also I would like a personal trainer twice a week. I'm fundamentally quite lazy (!) so need someone who will make it fun and kick me into shape!! I have 3 small kids so someone who can come to the house would be great (I live just off the northcote road).

Thank you!

I worked with Elizabeth at Love Fit Betsy after my second child and she was fantastic. I could highly recommend her. Here's her website:

I'm launching a free 5 day detox shortly. The smoothie ones aren't great as you don't get enough protein and it's the protein that gives the liver the amino acids that break down toxins.
If you were keen you can sign up for my newsletter at www.emmanutrition.com and I'll send a link out shortly.
Otherwise there's a good one by Andrea Nakayama thats around £120

Hi! I just wanted to introduce myself as though I might be able to help.

I am a local personal trainer and pilates instructor and also have a diploma in nutrition.

I have done lots of work in the area with mums and do a lot of my sessions at my clients houses. I bring all the equipment and my goal is to make the sessions as convenient for you as possible!

Get in touch if you would like to chat more, I have some January offers going.

Thanks, Maija,

Hi Muddlemoo,

I can recommend a brilliant detox. I did it last year a month before my 40th birthday and it practically took years off me! It's different to anything you've ever heard probably but it's natural, doesn't require anything fancy and won't leave you feeling hungry and deprived of food (my favourite bit!). I know use this method of nutrition in my Lifestyle Seminars and have had good feedback.

I am a personal trainer and lifestyle coach for women, in the Wandsworth area. I personally try everything I recommend and back it up with science. I would love to have a chat. You can get in touch via email or call 07984 033 310.

My web address is www.sallyhumphries.com

Look forward to possibly working with you and helping you to feel and look great!

I can highly recommend the trainer I used. It's SWFit, Jill Walsh. She was fantastic when I SOS'd her after baby 2 to help get me focussed again and am so pleased I did it.
She is a Mum herself and totally understands you and makes it feel all the more credible. She's on swfit@outlook.com or 07879 817677
Have fun!

Hi Muddlemoo,

Instead of a detox have you considered rethinking the way you eat in general? http://www.makingthingseasy.com has a Food Management Made Easy online course starting this Monday 13th January, which will re-educate you on healthy eating. It's easy to follow, you can do it all from your home, and the testimonials prove that it creates great results!

And if you're not sure which Personal Trainer to go for http://www.fitforaprincess.co.uk have a selection of trainers who they will try and match to your specific needs!

Best of luck and we hope you find what you're after!

Hi,

There's a detox body and mind workshop at Samsara Mind and Body (http://www.samsaramindandbody.com) this coming Saturday from 14.30 - 17.00.

It consists of Yoga and Juicing and is a great way to kick start a detox, get some tips, and get in the right frame of mind. The teacher, Emma, is really lovely!

Here are all the details if of interest. It needs to be pre booked as Emma is getting all the ingredients to make juices!

Good luck!
