Recommendation for Builders -Loft Extension

Postby MeMoo » Sun Dec 29, 2013 2:58 pm

Hi

We are considering extending our loft extension and wondered if anyone had any builders they could recommend. Looking for a builder that doesn't cost the earth!

Hi There,

We used a really amazing builder for our loft and they were really great and very reasonable. Really small company just started up and we gave them a chance on the recommendation of a friend. It is actually a woman who runs it. Her customer service was amazing and she works with an amazing builder who is so lovely. Even when there were challenges there was always a solution and they truly do put the customer first. Let me know if you want their details.

Thx

Hi MeeMoo

We just completed our loft extension which started on 18th November, and we are thrilled with the results and our building team. To be honest we used a very well known firm, however now that we know our builders I would use them direct from now on.

Our builders are British, attended everyday, including Dec 24th, Dec 30th, 31st and Jan 1st (at our request) to ensure the work was completed on time. They have a brilliant team working with them, and were very tidy, helpful and trustworthy.

Do let me know if you want more info, or wish to come and see the work as we live in SW17

After a recommendation we used Top Flight, they're based in Ealing. Had seen their banners around over the years and found them on Google. They produced a lovely design and took care of everything, can't complain about the quality or the builders, all lovely guys. If you call them ask for Dale or Alan they're the owners. Hope that helps :)

We work closely with a firm called Plenta Effect.

Separately, we offer Project Management services and can look after your build as much or as little as you need - takes the hassle factor away and we also quite often manage to negotiate better prices and discounts for our clients.

Feel free to message me if you would like our details.

One of our users just posted regarding a negative post that's been removed and I wanted to respond.

The jist of the comment was that we'd taken down a post because it was negative about an advertiser and that the only reason we'd done so was because they were a client.

So let me explain what we've done and why...

1. whenever a member is new or hasn't posted much (eg more than five posts) but does post strong negative criticism of a company we ALWAYS delete that post.

It's not that we are trying to protect anyone or anything, but it is EXTREMELY common for competitors of a business to join and post "false" negative reviews. It is a *daily* occurrence.

This deletion is totally unrelated as to whether the firm in question is a sponsor or not.

For the post in question, the user had only posted once before, in those circumstances we need to know if they're a real user.

For the avoidance of doubt, if a regular user posts something negative that doesn't come down. Its only new users.

The integrity of this website is based upon people being honest and false negative reviews are as damaging as false positive ones.

We also do the same for false positive reviews. I reckon I delete about five or ten a *day*.

2. we then email the person involved and ask to talk to them. I emailed the user yesterday the INSTANT I deleted the post. I explained that we needed to talk and why. I actually have a standard bit of text that I cut and paste into the email as I do this so often :-)

3. we have NEVER removed negative comments for ad dollars. Never have and never will. We have lost many many ad campaigns as a result of this.

4. we then discuss the complaint with the poster and try to work out how genuine it is. Around 80% of all false negative review writers will not speak to us on the phone (they're obviously false) and the remaining 20% are real and after explaining the process and the laws of libel we then leave it up to the poster to decide if they want to continue.

Hope that explains it.

Thanks for using NVN!

Hi - it was me that had my post removed. Agree with all of the above and understand why it needed to be removed to be authenticated. The majority of my conversation with Annabel surrounded the potential legal issues that might arise from me providing negative feedback on a company. As I am a genuine customer and have an opinion on a service provided that I would like to share, I don't feel I should avoid doing so for fear of repercussions. What would be the purpose of this, or indeed any other review based / opinion sharing forum if we allowed this to be the case? So in short, we have had a very poor experience with Landmark Lofts and I would absolutely not recommend them. I am happy to share my reasons. Please PM if interested. Thanks.
