Advice on involving local schools in healthy eating comp

Postby entrepreneur_mum » Tue Jan 21, 2014 4:55 pm

Hi – I am a local (Wandsworth) Mum who is going to be a launching a new kids lunchbox (see below) in the early summer. I am keen to run some competitions in local schools based around healthy eating and give some of these away as prizes prior to our launch. Can anyone suggest the best contacts within the schools to discuss if this is a possibility?

Many thanks all
Sarah

Yumbox is an award winning, bento style, kids lunch box. It is incredibly stylish and practical and puts a strong emphasis on teaching children (and adults) about nutritional balance and portion control. You may be best to target schools that don't provide hot meals. I know that my children's school really encourage children to participate in the school lunches rather than packed lunch. Schools that don't provide packed lunch are Dolphin and The Roche and I'm sure there are others.

Thank you for this. I will get in touch with them. I don't suppose you know which of the State schools in NV have a lot of packed lunch eaters do you?

ooh that looks neat! My daughter will have to take her lunch when she starts school (severe food allergies). I'll get one!

Fantastic! If you visit out website www.yumbox-uk.co.uk and sign-up to our newsletter we will let you know when we get stock.

Sorry for the advertising - my question still remains to any mums who have kids in the local state primary schools as to who I contact to run a healthy eating design / drawing competition with them with yumboxs as prizes

I'm sure our school would be interested, especially since lunches are not provided, do you do veggy lunchboxes?

There are a lot of packed lunch eaters at Honeywell, although the school provides really good hot food every day. I think your boxes look fabulous - my kids have hot food at school, but I would definitely be interested for those days when we are out and about with a picnic.

Hi

I am selling the actual lunchbox (not the contents) but they make the perfect solution for veggies as you can fill them how you like and make sure they are still getting the right balance of protein etc. If you think your school would be interested it would be great to speak. My email address is yumboxuk@gmx.com

It is great to have such positive feedback - please do sign up to get our newsletter on the website so we can let you know as soon as we receive stock.

Thanks all - you can always rely on NV mums to know someone in the know! :D

Hi

Sorry - I just realised through a friend that I made it sound as those I wouldn't be interested in working with the local private schools. This isn't the case. I am very keen to work with both, so please do let me know if you have a contact at any of the NV schools I could reach out to.

Thanks
Sarah
