Wedding Venue Idea

Postby DomsMom » Mon Nov 15, 2010 4:10 pm

We're planning on getting married next year, around Oct - December time. By then we'll have two children, house etc and really don't want to spend £10-15k on a wedding as have lots of other uses for our money :-)
Does anyone have recommendations for a lovely, warm friendly venue that will take around 100 of our friends for an afternoon/evening celebration? We're happy to consider a really nice pub - and if we decide on a Nov/December wedding, would have a cosy winter wedding theme. We'd ideally like a venue fairly close to home, so SW London somewhere or even Surrey, Sussex perhaps. I've done so much web surfing but am no further along. We would like good food, good vibe and it doesn't need to be too posh but a 'pretty' venue is prefered.

Any suggestions welcome - thanks!

we had our wedding reception at London Rowing Club in Putney.
Lovely river views.
Was a great venue. Much cheaper to hire than many others around, as were their caterers. very happy as we also didn't want to spend a ridiculous amount.
When we were there 5 years ago we had an open fire for a winter wedding!
had about 120 sit down guests
hope that helps!

Hi

I recommended The Depot in Barnes to my friend after attending a party there and her wedding was fab! It's quite intimate but with great views of the river and another room for dancing with a bar!

We had ours with about 120 people at the county arms on trinity road. Not "pretty" as such but lovely and relaxed, cosy fires, excellent food, excellent staff, fantastic venue. Highly recommended.

Hi there I run a small privately owned venue (The Common) just off Bellevue Road, we've been open for just over a year and are very keen to move into weddings. Between myself and Simon (the owner) we have 9 years experience event managing and planning weddings. We are right next door to Wandsworth Common so great oportunities for photos etc. I don't know if you've thought about a venue for the ceremony itself but we are right next door to the beautiful St Mary Magdelenes Church and have access to their hall as an event banqueting space.

If this sounds like the kind of thing your looking for please give us a call and arrange a time to come and have a chat and a glass on us!

Call Simon, Dan or Lucille at "The Common"on 0208 772 4566.

Good Luck
