Second mugging in the area - be careful

Postby monaco » Fri Nov 26, 2010 11:04 am

I just received an email from one of our child's school mums and she has a friend who was mugged yesterday evening at 6:30 on Ramsden Road.

She was with her kids and noticed a small car oddly parked on the corner of the street. Next thing she knew, two men attacked her. They wanted her jewellry.

The police says that there is a spat of these incidents in the area.

Be very careful and inform your nannies/friends etc...

Hi Monaco

Are you sure the mum was on Ramsden road and not Bramfield road? I ask as there is an email circulating about a mousehouse mum attacked at the same time on Bramfield road yesterday (Thurs) and if they are different incidents then they are almost certainly linked.

There are some horrible people out there. :-(

You are right, it was actually on Bramsfield road.

Another friend of mine said that a car was burnt out in her street (Gayville road) and that her husband has been approached by some weird people when walking back home in the dark.

So clearly, there are a few people out there with bad intentions.

Doesn't make me feel good about my walk home from the tube station tonight... :?

Hi
I've reproduced an email we've just been sent here at NappyValleyNet...

Subject: Please be aware - Attack on Bramfield Road last night

Dear All

Forgive the alarming nature of this mail but I just had a call from a mum at school telling me that last night at 6.30 she was attacked outside her house on Bramfield Road.

She is ok but was badly beaten and wanted to let everyone know so as you can all be extra vigilant.

XXX was with her boys and wearing a visibility jacket when she noticed a small car parked at an angle across the street. Next thing she was attacked by 2 men, one strangling her and the other kicking her. She dropped to the ground pretending to have passed out but they still carried on and then went for her rings and she managed to hit out at one of them.

They got away but not before her husband had run after them and they almost ran him down in their car.

As some of you may have heard, there was an attack on Thurleigh a few weeks ago and the police say there is a spate of these incidents in the area.

XXX was concerned not to scare any of you but I for one am a little blase about walking in the dark around here thinking it's a 'safe neighbourhood'.

Please all be extra careful and pass on to other parents/nannies. There are some disgusting animals out there who think nothing of attacking a mum in the street, pushing a buggy with her children.

Thanks

XXXXX

The email above reports the same incident I mentioned at the top. Just wanted to precise that so people didn't think it was yet another one again.
