carpet fitter: recommendations please

Postby mmb » Fri Jul 18, 2014 2:49 pm

Hi we are looking for somewhere to buy some new carpet but also we would like them ideally to remove all the old carpets in the house we are buying and fit the new ones. Any recommendations? Thanks

we've just used Osborne Flooring (formerly Wall-to-Wall Flooring which we got from some glowing recommendations on this board) - the owner Mick Osborne is really helpful and does a lot of the fitting himself, and prices very reasonable. We're really happy with them.

On the recommendation of a property developing friend, we used Carpet Express in Pimlico. Our sisal and wool carpets are lovely and about half the price I was quoted by Peter Jones.
They're family run, provide a great service, cheap and thought of the extras we'd not considered. They have fitted carpets in Downing St before.
Old carpets were removed free of charge.

Thank you very much! Both look excellent recommendations but also quite different... hard choice... I know how we are going to spend our next weekend...
