Looking to start a new French playgroup/meet up - Clapham

Postby lucilef » Tue Oct 14, 2014 10:10 am

Bonjour!

I am a French mum to Charlie, 5 months, and I'd like to meet up with other French speaking mums & babies in the Clapham area.
My husband being English, I'm in charge of making sure Charlie's French is top-notch :) , and would like to have him meet other French-speaking mums and babies in the area.
No need to be French, just to have an interest in speaking French around your babies on a regular basis!
Very happy to host at mine with some tea and biscuits.
Please message me if interested!

A bientot,
Lucile

Hi,
I am in a very similar situation. I'm french, my husband is British and I would like to meet french mums with young children in the Wandsworth/clapham area. Our son is quite a bit younger, he is only 4 weeks old but I'd like to find a nice group to socialise with in the next few months.
Have you been contacted by anyone else? I would love to meet up.
Thanks, Tiffany

Hello Ladies,

I am from Mauritius and also bi-lingual. My husband is English and I am keen to raise our 7 month old daughter, Nadia, as a bi-lingual. Although I try to speak french to her at home I am not very disciplined (i've lost my confidence speaking french too) and would love to meet up with other mums in similar situations. We live in Balham. Please let me know if you have organised anything or if you are planning to join a playgroup.
thanks
Shai.

I might not fit in this group but I would love to have my babes connect with other french speaking babes. My husband and I are Canadian, he's the French speaker in the house. He speaks only French with the children (ages 2 and 3). I'd love for them to see that there are others who speak French and it's not just 'Daddy's language'. :-)

Hi
I might be a bit late (hope not!) but have just seen your post about starting a French playgroup in the area. My husband and I are both English but his father is Swiss French and we have been very keen for our son to grow up speaking French. He sounds a bit older than your little ones (20 months at the moment). We used to attaned a lovely French playgroup every Friday called Ooh Lala Les Petits in Wandsworth but sadly this is no longer running. We are Clapham based (just down the road from Ecole de Wix where we hope he will attend when he's older) and would love to get involved in a local French playgroup if at all possible.
Hope to meet you all soon,
Deanne

Hello -
Quite a late reply, but I'm also interested in surrounding my baby with French. She is 14 months and will be starting with EDP nursery. My husband is Swiss and I am South African. My French is basic but eager ti improve :) We would love to join if you are still open to another member. Near both Clapham Common and Junction.
