Postby Jane74 » Fri Mar 27, 2015 10:29 am

Hi
Can anyone recommend a good doctor/omeopath for allergy testing on babies?
Thanks

I got my son tested at Neals Yard (Northcote Rd) when he was about 1.
There is a lady who does it via kinesiology (like a belt they strap around your LO's tummy). It takes about 1hr, the lady who did it was v nice.
I cannot really say if i recommend it or not...in our case nothing major came up, there were some foods that she said we should avoid and we did for a few months, then reintroduced them and he seemed fine with them...

Prof Lack at the Portland is top notch for allergies. We've been seeing him since my daughter was 11 months old, for severe (anaphylactic) allergies. I believe he looks at intolerances, too.

I used Dr Neil Shah from The Portland Hospital. I would definitely recommend him and his team.

I can second Prof Lack at the Portland. He was involved in the recent research on peanut allergies that has been in the news and we saw him a couple of weeks ago for my daughter's milk protein allergy. I would not recommend homeopathy or kinesiology testing for children.

I can third Prof Lack - we have seen him about my son's many food allergies. He also heads up the team at St Thomas' so see if you can get a referral there from your GP as he doesn't come cheap and I've found that the care at St Thomas' to be very good - it just takes a while to get into the system. Happy to chat further about our experiences if you wish...

We went to the Harley Clinic - Dr. Helen Cox. Very helpful, and explains you the whole process. More than happy to chat more.

Thanks a lot for sharing your contacts and experiences.
A friend put me in touch with Dr Michael Markiewizc at
cromwell hospital!
Hopefully the baby will be tested soon so we can understand what the problem is.
Thanks a million
J
