Flu vaccination for children?

Dear all,
I am wondering whether or not to get my children immunised against the flu. GP strongly recommends it. This one is painless (just a spray in the nose). Does anyone know if this vaccination presents any risks or lifelong conditions? Is is safe for a child with a mild egg-white allergy?
