They aren't strollers though - they are prams or travel systems

A stroller would be a Maclaren

Love my bugaboo bee +. Light to push, easy to steer, small enough for buses and trains, folds compactly so doesn't take up whole boot and good suspension so baby isn't bounced around on the pavement etc. Have used from birth and my son is now 2, still using it. Only complaint is the basket underneath is a bit small and difficult to get into once you're using the seat, but I use buggy clips.

I have the Uppavista baby (the 2014 model) and it's very comfy for my child. The bassinet is great and can work as a moses basket for nights away. We used that all the time when we are overnight stays in the first six months. Comes with an integrated sunshade which is useful in the summer months.

The shopping basket is massive which again if you live in a city and don't use the car much is very useful.

The pram is easy to steer and very comfortable for children. You get both the child seat and a bassinet (and car seat adaptor) for a more reasonable price than the bugaboo (where you only get the fabric to change over rather than an actual toddler seat).

The only downside I would say is that it is quite bulky so may not fit in any car boot. The carrycot is easy to lift up and down. However if you look to lift the whole structure than it can be heavy.

Feel free to pm me if you want more info. I think the best is to have a play with one in a shop. You can also find product reviews on Mumsnet.

Good luck xxx

I think the Uppababys are the best all round - the hood, basket, seat are all great and the 2015 Vista converts to a great double if you are planning to have another baby fairly quickly.

However they are quite tall and bulky so not so great if you are petite or if you want something that feels small and will take up very little hallway space, or something that is easy to lift in and out of the car. For those criteria the Bugaboo bee is best I think (or the Babyzen Yoyo is worth a look too).

Hate the Stokke Xplory (the one where the baby sits on a long plastic stalk and there is no basket) but the Scoot looks ok, I don't know it well

Icandys are not bad but some of them have very "clicky" hoods (Which would annoy me as it could wake a sleeping baby) and I think they are not compatible with buggy boards which is important if you are considering baby number 2 at some point.

I went for a Bee but I think if I had my time again I'd get a Vista 2015 version and a little cheapo fold up stroller for times when the buggy's size and weight was an issue. All depends on your personal circumstances though

I wish I'd had the 2015 Uppavista! Unfortunately I bought mine in 2014 which won't change into a double (well not with the carrycot anyway). I've had to get a Phil and Ted's double instead - shame as I love my Vista and would love my new baby to get the same comfort as my first!

One thing to consider is I don't think the Uppavista has as good a resale value as the Bugaboo if this is something you think you need to consider. Though I haven't tried this myself but looking on sites they don't seem to be as popular second hand. Maybe because they are so many around or they are cheaper in the first place.

Oh I forgot to mention - another brand worth a look is Babyjogger - they are quite lightweight and so can mean you avoid swapping to a maclaren or similar later. However they don't parent face which you may or may not care about.

You need to think about how you are likely to be using it:

- are you going to be using it on rough ground eg country walks much? if so get something with decent size tyres

- are you going to be putting it in the car a lot, if so get something which folds up small and easily (in one piece) and is light enough to pick up when folded

- are you going to be on the bus a lot, if so look for one which is quite short back to front and has a handle which can be shortened right down (the Bee is fab for buses). Also look for a one piece fold in case you ever get forced to fold it

- might you be having baby 2 quite soon, if so look for one which converts to a double or at least takes a buggyboard

- do you want parent facing

- are you willing to keep it in your hallway/front room when not in use - if so then how much room is there, if not much then you may want something smaller - or do you plan to fold it away every time (this never happens in reality :D )

None will tick every single box so it's a question of your priorities. And obviously you should go to a buggy shop (Peppermint on Northcote, Bump to Baby on Balham Hill or John Lewis) and try them out in the flesh and see what you like!

Great points above from Pie81!

I bought the Uppababy Cruz and it's been great. I chose it over the Vista purely on size (as the price was similar once I bought the carry cot and car seat adaptors). I nearly bought a Bugaboo until I tried the Uppababy. The storage in the Cruz is ample and it's been great for public transport (and getting through narrow cafe spaces!).

If you are thinking about having a second child though, I'd recommend the Uppababy Vista.

There are pros and cons to all of them - and I found people loved (and hated) about every model out there! :D

Good luck!

I have the Uppababy Cruz (2015 model) and absolutely love it. As with the Vista, the bassinet can be used as a moses basket, you can even buy a stand for it if you would like to use it at home, but we used it for travelling and it was a godsend. As a previous poster highlighted the Uppababy's all have integrated sunshades which are very useful and I have had comments from others that they wish their pram/stroller had the same -handy when it rains too or when baby is sleeping.

The under basket in the Cruz is not as big as the Vista but the trade off is smaller wheels at the back so you can comfortably take on the bus and in the boot of a car which friends with the Vista have had trouble with - one had to buy a new car because of this!

I am petite and have stairs to get into our property but do not have a problem with the Uppababy - I was tempted by the bugaboo bee when purchasing but glad I went for the Uppababy as I felt it was far more stable and hardwearing - bugaboo bee owners may have a different view..

Travel wise - we have taken 14 flights with the Uppababy to date including long haul and the buggy/pram has withstood all the knocks and bumps of checkin. For peace of mind we purchased the travel case which, if you register it, insures your buggy against any damage during transit.

If I was purchasing again I would go for the Uppababy Cruz as I have no complaints and have not seen another pram I would rather have. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to message me. I found Peter Jones great for demos and advice. Good luck with your decision.
