Best deals for pushchairs?

Postby kaierik » Sun Sep 20, 2009 4:11 pm

We're moving to Clapham soon and we were wondering where to find the best stores/deals for pushchairs and nursery equipment? Is there any in the Clapham area or do we need to visit a bigger departmentstore or mall further away.

Hello

Peppermint on Northcote Road is supposed to be very good, apparently they are the cheapest for Phil and Teds double buggies. They also sell nice kids clothes!

Welcome to NappyValleyNet and thank you for posting.

Moops - I think that's great advice. Can I also add that lots of people use Peter Jones or John Lewis which are the the same chain of department stores but I'm not sure how cheap they are. They do tend to have very good advice though!

Let us know when you come over and we'll invite you to a local mums meet up.

Thanks again

Thanks for the feedback and good links, we'll definately check it out when we come over for a visit in November. We are permanently moving to Clapham in January, and in our little family the dad will stay home with our (now) 5 months old son. So we hope that you have room for a father in your mums meet ups as well :)

I can highly recommend Peppermint. The Northcote Road branch is very new, we had used the one in Kingston and also now the Northcote Road one. We chose our pram in John Lewis and then ordered it from Peppermint with the car seat etc. We have just moved onto the second stage car seat. Both experiences Peppermint were considerably cheaper than anywhere else. I think our new car seat was RRP £190 and we bought it for £141.

I was recommended them by a friend, the reason being that, certainly the Kingston branch, let you test drive the pram around the shops (empty) before you buy. It is quite funny watching heavily pregnant women walk around Kingston with empty prams but was extremely useful. We chose the Bugaboo Cameleon after the test drive, the Bee was a little like a wobbly shopping trolley!

Hope this helps!
