Stay at home mum looking for some chums!!

Postby catief » Mon Sep 28, 2009 8:22 pm

Hello

I am mum to a 15 month old son and have been lucky enough to meet some fantastic friends through my NCT group. Unfortunately they have all either gone back to work or moved away and suddenly I find myself a little bit at a loss for grown ups to talk to during the day. I do the usual Clapham mummy and baby stuff but wondered if anyone else was in the same boat and fancied meeting up for a coffee/jaunt round the common. I live near Abbeville Road by the way.

Thank you for using nappyvalleynet.

NappyValleyNet could organise a meet-up in your area if you would like? If anyone is interested why don't they reply to this post and we can see how many we get? Thats how we started the Earlsfield meet-up which is tomorrow.

What do you think? :D

There is one thing you could do! :D

Can you recommend any local cafe/bar where we could have a meet-up?

Regards

I can recommend the bandstand cafe on Clapham Common. Not hugely glamourous, but my wee one won't sit still for coffees these days so plenty of running around opportunities would be better! And the tea and coffee is cheap!

Hi there

I have just registered having been to the get together in Earlsfield this morning. I am a stay at home mum too and would be happy to meet up. I know the bandstand cafe on Clapham Common too. Was there on Sunday as it happens. Great ice cream. So would happily go along to a get together there too. I found the same thing - that most of the mums I had met went back to work. It would be nice to meet a like mind! :)

I have a quick question...

should I call it an Abbeville Meet-Up or a Clapham Common meet-up? I want it to be specific enough for people to want to come along but not so vague they feel its not relevant.

what do you think?

Hi!

Just to say that I think a Clapham South meet up would be great. I live off Abbeville road too and would be very happy to meet some new people!

I too would love to meet some other stay at home mums. I have a 4 year old daughter who has just started school and am now at home with my 16 month old son. I live inbetween clapham south and balham so would really love there to be a clapham south get together!

Hi
Thank you for all your replies. We'll look for a venue this week and post more details as soon as we have them. If you know of anyone else who might be interested please do point them in this direction!

Thanks again

Hi,
Very keen to join you, only hope my son (21 months) isn't too old.
