Hi, I haven't got a recommendation but I have been looking at fireplaces from Chesneys and they have some recommended chimney sweeps. Try their website or calling them?

Stonewoods in Wandsworth recommended Paul Clarke (details below) to us. We used him a few months ago to clean 3 chimney places and open up another and he was great. also does some celebs houses so has some good stories- ask him about Nigella?!

I actually found him through Google after I almost despaired to find somebody who was vaguely reasonable and not booked up for weeks.
so it was a bet, but he was brilliant. Very neat, professional, and extremely reasonable

I needed to have a certificate of chimney safety from someone registered with this organisation when having a woodburner fitted.

I hope no one minds me asking, but what should one expect to pay to have a chimney swept? DH has his heart set on using the fireplace in our front room and I wanted to know whether it is worth it!

I just used Alan Nash from 1,2,3 Chimney Sweeps (tel nb - 020 8668 9914) who turned up on time, was very friendly, efficient and cleaned up everything after him with absolutely no mess! I would recommend him highly.

Oh and forgot to mention - its a family business since 1870 and now run by him and his wife.

I needed a chimney sweep and someone who could cap the chimney stacks, Paul Clark doesn't do the capping but he recommend Mick Binge who does both sweeping and capping, he came around last weekend and did a good job. Was very tidy and didn't make a mess, was also honest and charged us less than expected in the end. Would recommend, his number is 07860263874.
