Needed recommendation for large firesafe glass installation for corridor

Postby Familycompleted » Tue Oct 13, 2020 1:39 pm

Could anyone please recommend a glass/glazing company that would install glass panel that would reach stair to ceiling to make a victorian house corridor "fire safe" to the exit? We want to remove one of the walls to make the ground floor open plan but need to meet the building regulation fire safety requirement.
Thank you in advance!

Yes, we had the exact same thing done a few years ago. Fire rated crittall glass.

We used Govette Windows. Can highly recommend, they were fab.

See image for what we did. We replaced the wall between the hallway and the dining room, to bring more light into the hallway and make the dining room more "open".

You might also be able to use a water misting system to maintain a “protected means of escape”

Check with your Building Control or Approved Inspector.

I can't stop recommending bespoke glazing design, they are fantastic.
