Trinity School, Croydon

Postby KidfromFame » Sun Feb 14, 2021 11:29 am

Does anyone in SW18 have a son at Trinity School, Croydon and if so, could you please tell me about his journey to and from school (when not in lockdown!) In particular, has he / you found it a problem living so far away from the school? Are his school days very long? What happens when the trains are delayed? Does he have friends from school who live near him? My son has an offer from the school and we're really keen but a little apprehensive about living so far away. Unfortunately we don't know anyone else at the school so we don't have anyone else to ask. We don't live near the bus route so he would need to travel via Clapham Junction. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi my son is currently there - the train journey is very easy from CJ to East Croydon and then once at East Croydon there are about 4 buses that go directly to the school which takes about 6 minutes.

The school day finishes at 3.45. So is not too long.

There is a big group of boys that go via CJ and we also have a Wandsworth parents WhatsApp group so can connect easily.

Lots of boys travel to Trinity from Clapham Junction - I don't think you will be considered to live far away

So many children head to the Croydon Schools from SW11, 12, 18. I would think that your son will be in great company. As many have said they travel via Clapham Junction, there are loads of children doing this and they all seem to be having a great time from what I have seen. Trinity is a great school. I wouldn't not go there because of the journey, its actually a very quick one compared to many options out there.

Thank you all for your replies and for putting my mind at rest. It's been particularly hard making decisions this year given the lockdown / fact we've not been able to visit any schools so it's really helpful to hear from other parents.
