How do you keep up with your bikini area when pregnant?

Postby Lily » Fri Sep 23, 2011 12:38 pm

Hi mums,

What an embarassing question I have for you...I'm 8 months pregnant and can't keep up with my bikini area anymore... Cause of my pregnant belly, I can't see anything anymore "down there". How do you cope with this? I'm so afraid that I'll have to give birth without being neatly waxed, any experiences?

Hi there

I understand where you are coming from completely! After struggling to try and do it myself I went to a beautician (on my due date) and had a waxing.

I apologised profusely for the state of it and also my enormous belly! She was great and just got on with it, fascinated by the fact that my baby was wriggling around!!! I felt so much better afterwards :)

So if you have a nice local salon I'd pay them a visit.

Good luck!

X

I have just had a baby and also didn't keep up with the maintenance. However in the throes of labour etc I didn't give a monkeys what things looked like down there.... Ended up with an emergency c-section in the end so got something of a trimming from the midwife anyway!

How about calling a lovely mobile beautician who would be more than happy to come to your home?? I found 2 lovely ladies advertised on Nappy valley...they are no more expensive than a salon....Good luck with the baby...as the lady above said though...when you're in the middle of labour thats the last thing on your mind!!!!

i go to a lovely lady called Wahida (not sure exactly how to spell it but she is from Mauritius) at 12 Lavender Hill, London, SW11 5RW Tel: 0207 924 1695.

She has a few pregnant clients and i find her super, really friendly and always does a great job. She also does a great eye tint and wax too!

I am 7.5 months pregnant and going to try to keep going up until the end.

I would give Nicky from Escape With Beauty a call. She will come to your house. I found her on this site. She is LOVELY and has kept my bikini line looking respectable all the way through my current pregnancy so is very used to pregnant women who have no idea what sort of state their bikini line is in!

Try Sofi at the Recentre in Balham - she's great and does all different types of bikini waxes, Brazilians, Hollywoods, Californians, G-string - you name it :D
