Maths Tuition - FREE

Postby kmeredith » Thu Sep 29, 2011 9:43 pm

Hello,

I am training as a student accountant and would love to volunteer to teach maths to children on a one to one basis as well. I have recently finished maths and further maths A-Level, so I can tutor people from any age up to this level.

This might seem a strange question to ask especially as my child is only 1 but do you do refresher courses for adults. I am already worried of when my son is eventually at school and comes home with maths homework as I won't have a clue how to help.

Maths has changed an awful lot since we were at school. There are many new methods and the current thinking is to introduce children to several methods so that they independently choose the right one for them. Don't worry. The Primary school that I sent my children to offered workshops to show parents how to help their child in Maths and English. It is in the school's best interest as we are our children's primary educators. Who knows what the teaching methods will be when your little one gets to school!
