Perimenopause and Menopause Clinic on Northcote Road

Postby DrSabrina » Fri Sep 29, 2023 10:56 am

Hi Nappy Valley Mummies!

My name is Dr Sabrina and I am a local mummy (my children go to nursery and school in the locale) and I also work in the area as a GP.

I have a special interest in the Perimenopause and Menopause and have completed extensive training around this and garnered a lot of clinical experience in this domain in the last years, where I have been holistically helping this cohort of women improve the quality of their life. It has been so rewarding to see women find themselves again with the right medical care and support and I am happy to bring this expertise to my local area collaboratively with The Smart Clinics where I can be seen by appointment during the week and on some weekends.

I look forward to playing a positive part to some of your Perimenopausal/Menopausal journeys and I am also offering additional Private GP services as needed for the young, old and everything in-between!

What a great option to have Sabrina. There are also some interesting articles here, seems the Gut plays a big part in helping some of the issues that we will face …

I completely agree that the gut needs further understanding and showcasing as it is so important in the Perimenopause/Menopause and health overall. The fact that we can increase our gut microbiome from 300g to 1.2kg after breakfast shows us how dynamic it is!

I take the opportunity in my consultations to be holistic as we are afforded the opportunity to do this during the time and it serves my patients better as we need to manage this time in many dimensions - hormonal and gut just being a couple of the parameters.

Thanks for the resources, I'll have a look. The British Menopause Society had some very interesting presentations on this in the summer.

Dr Sabrina has been absolutely wonderful at guiding and supporting me through the start of my perimenopause journey. It's been rare to find a doctor who listens and genuinely cares about making sure I understand what's happening to my body. Dr Sabrina talked through the various options of how I could treat my hormone fluctuations (both medically and naturally) and it has made all the difference. I definitely have less brain fog, better sleep, better moods and less anxiety. She is a gem and we are so lucky to have her working locally in NappyValley!
