The Battersea Games this summer at BPS

ImageFrom 1st July – 3rd September 2023, ‘The Battersea Games’ will be taking over Battersea Power Station – our biggest summer event yet! We’re inviting you all to take part or spectate in an exciting array of free and ticketed sports and games activities all summer long. Bring it on!

Always On

The Big Screen – Sports Fixtures and Movies  - Cost: Free

The Wimbledon Experience – 1st July to 16th July
To kick off the celebrations, the oldest tennis tournament in the world will be heading to Battersea Power Station as an official fan zone presented by Ocean Outdoor.

Spectators will be able to sit back and watch all the live action on a big screen in the Power Station’s six-acre riverside park, and on Wimbledon Finals Weekend from the 13th-16th July you can even enjoying tipples from Sipsmith Gin who’ll be serving up some sensationally sippable Gin and Tonics from their new art deco Gin Bus from 12pm-10pm.

Summer Sports – 17th July to 3rd September
Following Wimbledon we’ll be screening all the best summer sports from the Women’s World Cup, Tour de France, Netball World Cup and more. Stay tuned as the full schedule is coming soon!

Movies – 23rd July to 3rd September
If that wasn’t enough, we’ve teamed up with The Cinema in the Power Station to bring back our outdoor cinema – but this time its sports and games themed films! There’s plenty to choose from for all ages, and it’s all free! Some seating is provided but to ensure your spot we recommend bringing a picnic blanket in case. Full schedule coming soon.

Rocket Padel - Cost: £60 per hour (4 people)
The UK’s fastest growing sport is here, and we can’t wait! Brought to you by Rocket Padel, the new pop-up court is located in our riverside park with the iconic Power Station as its backdrop. Open 9am-10pm daily (with the last slot at 9pm) from 1st July – 3rd September, book a one-hour slot for four people. Rackets and balls are available, and the lovely team at Rocket Padel will take you through the rules if you need them. Coaching sessions with The Padel School can also be booked online and via the Padel Mates app for specific dates. Booking link coming soon. Age recommendation 10+

100m Track Race - Cost: Free
On your marks, get set, GO!. Challenge your mates on our new 100m track, located right under the Power Station and its iconic chimneys from 1st July – 3rd September. Last one across the line is a rotten egg (or has to pay for dinner)…!

Ping Pong - Cost: Free
To celebrate their impending opening this summer, Bounce are back with their ping pong tables, with the games gurus and ball robots joining Fridays – Sundays! Located inside the Power Station near the North entrance on your way to Turbine Hall B (where they will be opening soon), enjoy free ping pong from 1st 30th July.

Giant Board Games - Cost: Free
Check mate! We have a range of fun games for little ones to get involved with including a giant Chess set in Malaysia Square, plus Connect 4, corn hole and our popular soft play Imagination Playground in the riverside park. Limited Time

3×3 Basketball - Cost: Free
It’s time to dunk, dribble and defend. Widely held to be the world’s number one urban team sport, our pop-up 3×3 basketball zone is the perfect place to practise your skills from 20th July – 3rd September from 10am – 6pm.

Rock Climbing - Cost: £5 per person for two climbs
Reach new heights with our indoor rock-climbing wall located in the historic 1950’s Turbine Hall B on the Ground Floor. Available from 10am-6pm daily from 12th– 20th August. Walk-ins only

Flexi Zone - Cost: Varies depending on the class, many are free
Throughout the summer, our incredible brands and local community groups including NikeBe Military Fit (BMF), lululemonNOBULL, Third Space and Carney’s Community will pop-up with a great mix of classes, from yoga, boxing, HIIT workouts and more. Full schedule coming soon.

Dog Agility Course by the Battersea Cats and Dogs Home - Cost: Self-run agility course free. Shows, classes and training by donation.
Visitors with four-legged friends will be thrilled to hear that charity Battersea Dogs and Cats Home will be bringing a dog-friendly agility course and hosting training sessions in the Power Station Park too. from 17th July – 3rd September. More details to come.

Boules - Cost: Free
Enjoy riverside views like no other whilst trying your hand at a game of Boules. Located on The Coaling Jetty from 10am-6pm, between 1st July – 6th August.

Arcade Games - Cost: Free
Ding, ding, ding! Turbine Hall B on the Upper Ground Floor will be transformed into a vintage arcade for two weekends on 8th – 9th July and 5th – 6th August. Open 10am to 6pm.

World’s Largest PAC-MAN
A throwback to 1980s’ childhoods, this old-school video classic is easy-to-play game on a supersized 3m tall screen.

Pixel Play
This four-in-one game includes all your ‘pixel’ game favourites – Pong, Tetris, Snake, and Etch-a-Sketch.

Atari Pong® Arcade Table
This recreation of Atari’s 1970s masterpiece is a mechanical twist on the original virtual table tennis game.

Strike A Light (4 player)
This fast-action game will bring out your competitive streak.

Virtual Reality - Cost: Coming Soon
Our very own virtual reality arcade, DNA VR, will be offering a range of fun and engaging experiences inside the historic Power Station from putting tennis skills to the test on a virtual centre court, surviving a zombie apocalypse, to travelling to the pyramids in Egypt or fighting off dragons.  Bookings not required, just walk up!

Pop-Ups
Throughout The Battersea Games we have a few pop-ups and surprises, the first from luxury Swiss watchmaker, IWC Schaffhausen who have a treat in store for Formula 1 fans… to celebrate the Silverstone Grand Prix week they’ll be bringing a Mercedes racing car from 4th – 9th July outside their beautiful boutique on the Ground Floor in Turbine Hall A.

 Please note schedules are subject to change and some zones may need to close in the event of bad weather.

We have a few pop-ups and surprises planned for The Battersea Games, starting with a gift for Formula 1 fans from premium Swiss watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen.
