About the Event
Do you recognise the need to strength train and perhaps have been put off in the past, perhaps you feel intimidated by gyms or simply not sure where to start?  The Strong Sisterhood consists of a free online forum, an online programme and in person group classes, seminars and meet ups.  On Monday 30th October you can join us for our very first event.  There will be refreshments, a lecture entitled ‘why women need weights more than men’ and an introductory strength training secession.  You will learn the female led science behind resistance training, why it’s so important and how your history, from a female, menstrual cycle and life stage perspective, has a bearing on what you need to do.

And it really doesn’t matter where you are starting from.  This is for ALL women!  Teens, 20’s 30’s, had kids, no kids, pregnancy, postnatal, peri/menopause or post menopause – it’s for all ages, all life stages!  We will focus on the factors that make you unique so that you can tailor your training specifically to you.  We will also get you started on your strength training journey in a safe environment where you can feel supported by like-minded women.

I think that strength training can be so beneficial for women, not just physically but also mentally and emotionally. It's awesome that the event will cover the science behind resistance training and why it's particularly important for women. If you're curious about strength training or have been hesitant to try it before, this event seems like a perfect opportunity to dip your toes in and learn more. And hey, while we're on the topic of women's health, I recently came across this website https://periuod.com/ that has some interesting information about periods and women's health. It might be worth checking out if you're interested in learning more about your body.
