Broomwood has won an Independent Schools of the Year Award. Judges were impressed by Broomwood’s approach to ‘wellbeing’ at every stage of its educational provision. Congratulating staff across all school sites, Principal and Head of Broomwood Boys, Michael Hodge said: “We believe in our children and their happiness and wellbeing is paramount. Our distinctive approach means that boys and girls achieve some of the best exam results in London, whilst at the same time developing confidence, resilience, and self-esteem”. Head of Broomwood Girls, Louisa McCafferty added: “We are focused on the journey not just the outcome. If we get the journey right, the outcome will be successful for every child.”
The Best of Both Worlds: Broomwood children are educated together in Pre-Prep until Year 3 (aged 7), before seamlessly transitioning to Broomwood Boys and Broomwood Girls. The school provides an environment where boys and girls develop at their own pace, taking advantage of specialist teaching and pastoral care but coming together for a range of co-ed activities. Our exam results at 11 and 13+ are outstanding, with 42 scholarships awarded in total last year out of a cohort of 103. Pupils were commended across the board, for academic achievement, art, drama music and sport. The School sites are located within walking distance of each other between Clapham and Wandsworth Commons.
The Independent School Awards are organised annually by Independent School Parent Magazine and this year received over 700 nominations. The awards are designed to showcase school success stories and celebrate the extraordinary and compelling student experience they provide.
