children's hairdresser

Postby SFMC » Mon Dec 05, 2011 8:04 pm

Hi
I am looking for a very good children's hairdresser (or a hairdresser who does children's hair). My son is 16 months and was born with a full head of hair. He is on his third hair cut and dad usually does it but I want a professional to give it a go (as it's now a bit uneven, and too much of a bowl cut)!
He has very thick and tricky to cut hair. I've tried Happy Faces off of Northcote road and did not find the cutting skill up to snuff - under normal circumstances it would be fine.
His hair is kinda crazy!

I can't recommend Costas and Andys Barber shop on Garratt Lane Earlsfield enough. They are fantastic with kids, the cut is always great and the price is very reasonable. My Son hated getting his haircut but they totally turned it around, they are fab!

Do try Sally's on the Northcote Road. She is just wonderful and she's so patient and kind with the kids - and does a brilliant haircut! Number is 02072236111

Yes I agree Sally is very good, has seen it all in terms of children who love/hate haircuts and does a great job.

Been going to Sally's for 7 years. She's great. Never had a complaint.

Also not a big fan of Happy Faces as they never seem to be very happy when I go in there!

We did trotters but was very much like a bowl cut so went to adult hairdresser (cobella @ northcote battersea rise junction) and they pulled it back from the 60's!!!!
Heard sallys is good but book early!

Sally's is obviously very popular but I have to say she did a terrible job cutting my sons hair. Just basically gave him an awful pudding bowl with no thought to his head or face shape or how his hair grows. He has a cows lick and a double crown and no kids hairdresser has ever had the skill to cut it properly but adult hairdressers normally do a wonderful job. So my advise would be that if he has unruly hair see if your own hairdresser would cut it when you next have yours done, failing that I know a lot of mums who take their boys to local barbers.
Good luck!

I took one of mine to Life hairdressers on Lavender Hill (used to be Antony Laban). I got Antony to cut it and he was very good although a bit pricey. I have heard Sally's is supposed to be good.

Hi Kate comes to my house and her price is very reasonable. She charges £15 per child or less if more children are having haircut. I'm usually organizing a "haircut party" I get a couple of mums together in my place usually around 6 or more children, and that usually comes to £10 per child. And they have fun together while having their haircuts. Kate is really quick, patient and just brilliant with kids and she even brings a little treat for everyone. Kids love her and I don't have to get through the hassle of getting my 3 children to shop and hope that the haircut will be what I'm after. Kate understands exactly what you'd like and always does a perfect job. I really highly recommend her. Kate 07729395045

Dermot at Northcut on Northcote Road has cut my sons' hair since they were 2 and he always does a great job - no pudding bowl in sight!
