Removal company recommendations

Postby irishbaby » Sat Jan 14, 2012 7:21 pm

I'm looking for a good removal company that isn't going to cost the earth as we're only moving 5 mins away. Also would like them to pack and unpack everything including diassembling and reassembling furniture. Thanks in advance!

Hi Runningmum,

I agree that Cadogan Tate are an excellent removal company – they also have a subsidiary company called Eco-Movers, who are great for smaller, more local moves. They’re very competitively priced too. http://www.ecomovers.co.uk/

Good luck with the move.

Kind regards,

Hi I highly recommend Burke and Wills. They were very competitive, reliable and took all the stress and hassle out of moving.

Burke and Wills are excellent. The guys are so polite, hard-working and fast. Price wise they are all about the same I'm afraid and we were also only moving a few streets away also.

Hi there,

We moved with Aussie Man and Van. They were excellent... just had to pick what would go into storage and what would be moved to my parents in law (as we moved in with them for a couple of month while our house purchase went through).

Their website is:

We were very happy with Kiwi movers.

Was also very impressed by Burke & Wills but their quote was more expensive.

We used Cadogan & Tate in the past and they were good but very expensive.

I was not overly impressed with the Aussie guys when they came to quote and I heard they are going out of business now?

Good luck with the move. They are always stressful no matter how short!

Many thanks for all your replies! I'll contact them all to get quotes. Yes, I'm dreading moving again, it's so stressful especially with a toddler running around!!
