Thank you so much Ianmum for passing on that pearl of wisdom. I'm so glad there are people like you to keep the ignorance and selfishness of other parents in check. And well done on again being clearly smarter than most to have read the booking instructions properly meaning you've got tickets for your own children. Though can't imagine why you think your attitude would make you unpopular with people? I imagine you're great fun to be around.

I was just looking at the 2012 website to check travel and saw this:

http://www.london2012.com/spectators/visiting/families/

"Babes in arms aged 12 months and under will be permitted access to London 2012 venues without a ticket provided they are securely strapped to their parent or carer by way of a baby carrier, sling, papoose or similar.

This policy applies to all London 2012 venues except the following, where there are existing licensing agreements that mean all spectators must have a ticket, including babies aged 12 months and under:

Wembley Stadium
St James' Park
Old Trafford
North Greenwich Arena
London 2012 venues will be extremely crowded and you will have to queue. Because of this, we would advise you to think very carefully before making the decision to bring you baby along to your event.

Parents of babies must adhere to the LOCOG bag policy – that is one bag per ticket holder which must be soft-sided and a maximum of 25 litres. Furthermore, parents must adhere to the food and drink policies for spectators."

No quite sure where we stand now. This seems pretty clear but completely contradictory to everything gone before!!!!

We will be taking our 9 month old son (in a sling) to two mens hockey games. When we entered the ballot for tickets I was pregnant so we applied for family friendly events and paid just £1 for a ticket for our baby. The tickets just arrived and he has his own seat number so I assume his own seat! We are super excited about the Olympics as we are kiwis and know the Olympics will never make it to NZ. Also sending hubby down to the library this evening to try and snaffle some torch relay tickets!

I have just received my tickets for the basketball which I was intending to take my 3 month old baby to, however I have just discovered that the tickets are for the North Greenwich Stadium which is one of the venues where babies have to have their own tickets for. I thought I had fully researched this as the Basketball stadium is actually in the Olympic Park but for some reason some of the games are now in the North Greenwich Arena. I don't have a ticket for my baby and can't leave her yet as I am still breastfeeding and can't get through to the ticketing line to give me advice. Does anyone have any advice as to what to do?! I was so excited to finally get some tickets and it's now looking like I won't be able to go!

KiwiMum - having read your response several times I still can't work out whether you are being sarcastic or not...if you are, shame on you, this forum is there for everyone to have their say whether you agree with it or not. If you are not being sarcastic then I apologise for misreading your tone!

God, this is bad news. We indeed bought tickets in May last year when the baby was not yet conceived! We have tickets for 8 events and we are planning to bring the baby along.
