Need a recommendation for a washing machine service

Postby KatherineHepburn » Wed Feb 22, 2012 7:29 pm

Hi there,

Can anyone recommend a great person or company who can service an AEG washing machine and tumble dryer and possibly a Neff dishwasher?

I'll also need to get safety certificates for all three as we're about to rent our home out.

Thank you thank youuuuu

Hi my names Dan I'm a washing machine engineer, I have repaired some washing machines in the area and have a couple of recommendations on this forum, I am also a 17th edition qualified electrician, you do not per se need safety certificates for domestic appliances, pat certificates are for small portable electrical items that can be moved I.e hairdryers, irons, toasters t.vs and computers, anything that can be moved and is not fixed and are only generally required if they are accessible to the public or a place of work, if a washing machine, cooker or dishwasher should develop a electrical fault I.e a short circuit or overcurrent, the saftey features of your electrical circuit will operate, thus cutting the supply,if it doesn't you have a faulty r.cd, or r.c.bo. sorry a bit long winded but I hope it has been of some help, anyone needing washing machine or other domestic appliance repairs can contact me on 07932 918 536 or my website is washingmachinedan.co.UK I am a highly recommended appliance repairer on which locals website where you can read my review's or if your not a which magizine buyer, the east dulwich forum where there are also more reviews. Support your local independent tradesmen!

Hello
I rang Dan the washing machine man tonighht as my washing machine broke mid cycle full of clothes and water. Was stressed as am working mum with no time for things to go wrong! Dan came round and did a thorough check, sorted out the problem and tested to ensure all was ok before he left. He was a nice guy, friendly, quality job and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend him. Some workmen you know you can trust and he was one of them. Also local, so that was good too. I was very pleased.
His number was written above.

In case you are still looking for someone I can recommend Steve Neal, he's local and has lots of experience with AEG.

Steve Neale – 07921 777 428

For reference he fixes & installs washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, ovens and fridges as well

Just wanted to also recommend Dan for washing machine repairs! He was able to come round quickly and sorted out the problem with our machine in under half an hour. I would certainly use him again and he also fixes dishwashers and electric ovens. His number is listed above.

I also recommend Dan. I found him about 5 weeks ago in an ad on nappyvalleynet and called him. He came out to fix my washing machine within a few hours, he gave pragmatic advice and his charge was very reasonable.

Hi,
My washing machine has been intermittently flooding our kitchen for the last two weeks. I called Dan (as mentioned above) out and he came and spent over an hour taking it apart and checking everything. He then watched it run through parts of a cycle and returned the following day (today) to check it over again. Touch wood it seems fixed now but I wanted to recommend him. V reasonably priced for a very thorough job.

I also recommend Dan. I got his details from this thread and he has just finished a job for me - he did a good job. He's a nice guy, very respectful, clean and tidy and diligent. I asked him whether he got much work from NappyValleyNet - his answer - "No, because most of the people who use it have German washing machines and they don't break". Brilliant!

Just an update to this...our washing machine broke rather dramatically yesterday morning. I had spoken with Dan a year or so ago on our dryer, and called him about the washing machine. He took a look at it yesterday afternoon and, as for the dryer, gave us sensible advice (unfortunately to buy a new machine...) and we are very grateful. He seems a nice, knowledgeable and helpful guy and I'd definitely call him for any appliance problems.

Just to add a recent comment/review - I called 'Washing Machine Dan' earlier this week about our dishwasher, a 2nd hand Bosch. He came out Thursday morning and again this morning and spent considerable time trying to fix it. Unfortunately it wasn't save-able so no charge for the parts and a VERY reasonable charge for his time. Plus good advice on what to replace it with. He's a friendly, helpful chap who has provided great service.
