Is it true that to get into the selection part of Graveney this year you had to get 100?

It seems that way, I have only heard of children who got 100% - get tutoring early :D

No, it's not true. In previous years offers have been made of selective places to those with scores of as low as 96% and above. But the first round of offers might be made only to those with 100%.

Remember the marks are percentiles - so the offers are made to those in the 100th percentile - not the same thing as those scoring 100%.

100 percentile not 100%.

Oh that's ok then.

For a second I thought you had to be perfect to get in, now you only have to be the best!

:D :D :D

It is a tough test, but it's only verbal and non-verbal reasoning - not English and Maths as the Sutton grammars and independents include. Which arguably makes it fairer for those children whose primaries haven't covered every area of the syllabus presented in a test.

The thing to remember with the Wandsworth test is that to score highly, the children have to be able to answer VR and NVR questions not only accurately but also at speed. Unlike in traditional exams, each section of the paper is timed and then taken away, so there's very little opportunity for them to go back and check over their work.
