Moving to Clapham

Postby IrishMummy » Mon Apr 02, 2012 7:30 pm

Hi all

Just found this site and it seems great. We have just moved to London and hoping to move to Clapham in the next couple of weeks (Forthbridge Road area).

Can anyone advise on good nurseries in the neighbourhood? We have a three year old who has been in creche in Dublin since the age of nine months so I'm anxious that she gets some kind of nursery/creche for even a couple of hours/days a week. However am aware that we are really late in the day applying.

Any pointers/advice/recommendations would be brilliant.

Thanks in advance

My kids went to Marmalade Cat on the corner of Battersea Rise and Altenberg Gardens. They loved it and we did too! There are lots of great nurseries around but places are snapped up pretty quickly. May be worth calling a couple of nurseries and asking their advice. Good luck with everyhing!

I highly recommend the nursery at Alderbrook School in Oldridge Road, Balham. A super little nursery with a very kind and nurturing staff. They work really hard to make sure the kids are always doing something new and exciting. Fantastic provision is provided and generally the environment is a very happy one. The school is an Investor in People organisation and has gained a number of awards, including the National Healthy Schools Award and the Primary Quality Mark for basic skills.

My son is in year 1 now, having been up through reception. He has always loved going to Alderbrook and is doing really well and is a very happy and confident child.

Why not give the school a call and ask them for a tour 020 8673 4913 or check out their website. Good luck and best you get onto it quickly as I'm not sure how many places they have left?

Hi. Can't help with nursery questions (my children are older) but I live in Forthbridge so more than happy to help where I can with anything else - or even just be a friendly face/local tour guide!!

PM if you need anything xx
