Anyone moving to the Claygate/Esher area?

Postby shanks » Fri Jun 01, 2012 12:44 pm

We're leaving Nappy Valley in August (cue slight hyperventilation!). We went through all the pros and cons, decided we loved living here and would stay.... and then found a 'project', so we're off.

Leaving my great friends behind here in London is what fills me with the most apprehension, and despite Claygate being only a half hour away down the A3, I want to get myself set up with a network out in Surrey as soon as I can.

So, is anyone else making the move or have you perhaps just done so? Would you like to meet up with a fellow ex-nappyvalley mum? Perhaps we could brave the mum and baby groups together??!

I've a couple of little ones, a boy who'll turn 3 just as we make the move in August and a baby girl who is coming up to 6 months.

Hi!!

I currently live in Clapham but we're moving to Thames Ditton next month and I'm more than a bit nervous about leaving all of my friends behind, especially my NCT friends who are a huge support to me. I've got a baby girl who is almost 7 months old and I'd happily meet up and go to baby groups with you!! Good luck with your move and I'll email you my number.

Hello
I am not a mummy but I am pregnancy massage therapist hence my connection to this website!
Anyway just wanted to say I am moving from Clapham to Claygate... scary but love the area (born and raised in Clapham).. good luck, seems like a really family friendly area.

you might find it useful to have a look at http://www.surreymummy.com as I think that's got some useful information on it.

Hi there... I hope your move has been a great success!
My husband and I are about to move from St Margarets to the outskirts of Esher....eeek....looking to save money and we've found a bargain house. I'm expecting twin babies (boy and girl) and would love to know if you've discovered any great down-to-earth baby clubs/groups in the area I can join with my newborns.
Thank you :)

Hi, I live between Claygate and Thames Ditton and its a fantastic place to be with little ones as there is so much to do. I have two girls, one who will be 3 in August and the other has just turned 3 months.
Last year, together with my cousin, I started http://www.thamesnippers.co.uk for families with under 5's who live in Thames Ditton and the surrounding areas. It's a not for profit site which we run in our spare(?) time. It's got lots of info about local playgroups, pre school classes, soft plays, playgrounds etc. we are also on twitter and Facebook.
Feel free to contact me if you want any further info or want someone to meet up with when you move in August!

Hi Ratty,

I am in Claygate and pregnant. We've been heer since august and love it. Are you doing NCT, I've met some nice ladies there and at a yoga class. There also seems to be lots of nice baby stuff going on, I'll find out when baby is here!
