Desperate to be pregnant

Postby anulka » Fri Feb 19, 2010 12:21 pm

I am a healthy 34 yr old with a 16yr old daughter, who I conceived easily. I have been trying to get pregnant for the last 4 yrs with no joy :(

Can anyone recommend a gynacologist that I could see.

Many thanks,

Anulka

Have you spoken to your Doctor about it? They will usually refer you to someone or look into it themselves if you have been trying for more than a year.

We had horrendous problems and I can not rate a chap from Parkside more highly. He didn't wave the magic wand for us but put us in the right direction. His name is Mr. Manyonda and he is the nicest man we have come across in a long time. I reccomended him to a friend, they were trying for 10 years for their second and with a bit of work they now have a healthy little person. He is thorough and often seems invasive but it works and it is in your interest. He does a lot of work at St. Georges but try and get on board to start with privately. Good Luck.

It's important to find someone you're comfortable with - your GP will point you in the right direction but also worth calling Zita West Clinic as they are good (tho expensive) at advising on all aspects.

If you want some help to feel less stressed about it all do give me a call - I'm a hypnotherapist specialising in fertility, I worked at the Zita West Clinic for many years and work closely with other leading clinics. If you're less stressed the chance of conceiving is much higher so I'm sure you'll find it useful.

Happy to have a chat to explain more about how it all works, my number is 07963 046 456.

I tried for 2.5yrs to get pregnant and now have a 7 month old son. I used The Lister Hospital, Dr Alison Taylor, and they were great. I'd also recommend going via your GP initially to see what you will be able to access via the NHS as going private is expensive, but if you have the funds and want to get going fast then private is the way to go. You might also want to consider acupuncture, which really helped in my case, and I used http://www.londonacupuncture.co.uk/. Good luck.

Hi Anulka

As it's been a while since you conceived, a lot could have changed with your fertility since then. The first step is to go to your gp and ask for the standard blood tests to assess your hormone levels. They may also refer you for a scan to check your womb, tubes and ovaries, and also test your partner's sperm.

If all these come back clear, you may be what is termed unexplained infertility, which occurs in one third of cases.

I recommend you visit www.fertilityfriends.co.uk which offers lots of support and advice on this issue - I found this invaluable whenI was going through ivf.

Best of luck
