If it's a summer birthday, a picnic in Battersea Park is absolutely wonderful! We did that for our daughter's 2nd and 3rd birthdays - kids and parents all had a great time! At that age, all they want to do is run around with their friends and play :)

If it's a winter birthday, Eddie Katz (Putney) worked well for our NCT group's 2nd birthday party. It's not wildly expensive, is lots of fun and the food is nice. The staff were great too.

Thank you for advices. It is late October venue, so outside it is not an option unfortunately. Ideally we need a smart venue for parents with playroom for all the kids age 1-2 years old :) I guess it is hard to find something like this.

the county arms on trinity road wandsworth common has a conservatory at the rear which i've known people hire for christenings so you can have a kids area and a dining area for adults. Might be worth a try

Church hall? St Ann's church hall is only around £15-16 an hour to hire, they have a kitchen and chairs/tables, etc. Nice venue, but obviously you would have to do your own catering and entertainment.

We had our little one's at Gambado Chelsea, they have a private room and if you book early enough and it's available then there is no cost to book it, so lovely to have the space to yourselves with the little ones playing games.
All of our toddlers loved it.

Hi,
The Old School Club provides kids parties. There is a children's play area and a lounge area for the parents to relax!. We can prepare arts and crafts activities for the children or a joined activity with the parents (this has worked very well). We can also arrange some catering for children and parents, including organic cakes or you can bring your own.

The Old School Club is a social place for creative workshops & children activities, so it is not an Eddie Catz or Gambado. But being different, it provides a lovely environment and the kids love the grass area.

If you would like to see the space or talk prices, etc, please contact Inma (inma@theoldschoolclub.co.uk) or 0207 924 2931

try Eat Play Love, you can have a table reserved for about 10 kids and they can play in the play area which is very good for 1 to 3 year old. one of the cheapest solutions in the area if you dont want a huge party. food is good and staff very helpful.

hi Excitera,

did you manage to find a good venue for the party?

We are looking to celebrate our son's second birthday in November and need a similar venue. Parents will expect to be fed as well so maybe a fixed menu or something ...

Any suggestions?

How about the national army museum, you can get exclusive use of the soft play area and the party menu looks decent.

Vhopeful - actually sound amazing! but probably better suited for 3 year old birthday party :) mine is still playing with rubber ducks and not interested in planes/cars that much!

Eat Pray Love - sound like a good idea as well, the only problem I don't like its location. I really would prefer somewhere in nappy valley or central.

Also what about mango and Julia's in parsons green? You can hire it out and grown ups can be upstairs and little ones downstairs!?
