That is a shame that you feel you need to leave.

I have also been on the receiving end if people who didn't like what I had to say (always seems to be the same few people) but I believe in my opinion enough to not let it bother me, and if anything make me more determined to reply to such people.

For what it's worth I don't think you did anything wrong and I'll be mindful next time I'm at Tesco.

I'm sorry to hear you feel that way Mungomuffit. However, I feel the need to fight my corner. Whilst I clearly disagreed with your post, I really do feel that my posts were appropriate. I was not aggressive or rude. I did not accuse you of lying and I did not question what happened or become personal. I simply expressed my concerns.

I agree with Snoopydog. Whilst it is sad that you feel you must leave this forum, that is your choice. If you choose to post on something which is clearly going to provoke a strong reaction (naming an individual is most definitely in this category) then you must be prepared to listen to those who disagree with you, as well as those who agree. That is the whole point of a forum. You were never going to be completely agreed with.

And secondly, in your new post, by singling out three posters by name, you are continuing to blame and 'name and shame' - which will win you no friends on a forum like this. Bearing in mind the current headlines focussing on cyber-bullying, I think your original post strayed into a dangerous territory of which I wish to have no part.

I am also sorry that you have been so upset by your previous thread that you wish to leave, however, I have not accused you of lying, far from it. Just disagreed completely with how you handled your complaint.

If you have been made to feel so upset by people disagreeing with your post, despite being anonymous, can you imagine how poor Syrita must feel?

I'm sorry to hear this Mungomuffit.
Don't leave.
People got hacked off you named and shamed.
Those of us who read your post and sighed about the crappy regularity with which supermarket staff are little short of sh***y and rude to their customers just sighed and didn't bother to post.
No, you probably shouldn't have given her name and if you want nice service staff then you really need to switch to M&S, Waitrose or ..amazingly enough..even Asda. But I too have stared in disbelief in certain chains at times horrified by what some staff consider to be 'service'. And having worked in the service industry for years (although not supermarkets) am amazed that some of these staff even bother to apply to work customer facing when it really isn't the career for them. Yes, sometimes it will be busy, sometimes a customer will want to trash the self-service tills and rant at the injustice of it all....but they are paid to smile, help and smooth things along, NOT make the situation worse by being rude to the customer. Or telling them to 'get outta my face!'
Would you honestly be able to say that in your line of work? Would you then expect your clients and manager to say ' ahhhh but she's having a hard day...'
I imagine not.
Anyway, we all know that it can at times get a bit Mumsnet on here, but cut Mungo some slack. She had a rotten time, told you all about it, and then got even more crap. Not nice all round.

I was actually hoping Annabell would delete the post. I don't feel anyone's comments were inappropriate. I agree that I was rude and probably should have just read and moved on. Unfortunately I felt a little strongly about it. I am not attacking you as a person I just didn't like that one thing.

We all make mistakes. I did for making you feel this way and for that I am truely sorry.

I will drop it now :|

Mungo, please don't go. Maybe have a break from NVN and come back in a bit. Or name change and start afresh?

Don't go! We've all had the occasional post that gets a negative response and we get a reaction we didn't anticipate. I thought personally I wouldn't have named the person. However, I didn't think the responses were too bad, I've definitely had worse. :) and I'm still here.

why not have a break if you feel this way, and see how you feel in a couple of weeks?
