Has anyone been to "The Honest Italian" in Balham ( opp St Marys church on the high road )

Fresh ingredients , wood burning pizza oven the first ever in Balham !!!

The pizzas are just melt in the mouth , who would of thought of Butternut Squash Pizza ........lush with other bits on it of course but the pizza melts in your month , made in front of you ....... yummy
... nice clean place to eat with a loverly warm welcome beats Pizza X any day of the week , try it you will love it .............

Went there on Sat with my other half and our little baby. Amazing pizza, great, friendly service. We'll definitely go back.

Does anyone know if this is run by any of the same people who had the cafe/restaurant which was there previously (Double Espresso)? I was so disappointed when that closed down (apparently a falling out between partners) - the food was fantastic and the pizzas were the best I've ever had - we would prefer to go out and collect the pizzas (because they didn't deliver) than have other pizzas delivered to our door. if it's the same people, that's great ...... or even if it's just a coincidence, good news for Balham.

Yes, it is one of the guys involved with Double Expresso. I was there last week and loved it. Great pizza!

We went there today as a result of the good reviews on here. It was great and very child friendly. The menu doesn't say that they do kids food but they will do small pizzas of a half lasagne fo you and they have loads of high chairs and a chalk board for the kids to draw on. Overall it was a great experience and we'll definitely go back.

We went this past Saturday and the food is great and the people are lovely. They showed us the oven and explained all about how hot it gets (very!), and seemed genuinely really nice. FYI they are open all day on Saturday, and at 4pm it was very empty and therefore a good time to go with little ones who want to run around...

We went a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Great pizza and nice smoothies for the children. The chef showed them how he makes the pizzas which they really enjoyed. I recommend the Carciofi (artichoke and parma ham), it was delicious!

We will definitely go again.

Went here tonight due to all the great reviews on NVN. OMG so glad I listened to everyone. It's fantastic! Totally recommend. Lemoncello Mojito? Yes please.
