GP Clapham Common northside? Post Reply

I am moving to clapham common northside with my family. is there any particular surgery/GP that you would or would not recommend?

Battersea Rise Group Practice is just wonderful it really is. The doctors are lovely, and you can always get an appt. would really recommend.

Depending on where you are, can highly recommend the lavender hill practice.

I have to say that I have been registered at both of the above GP practices. The Battersea Rise practice was the worst practice I have ever been registered with. The receptionists are downright unhelpful, surly and rude and trying to get an appointment (even for a very unwell 6month old) was virtually impossible. Plus a misdiagnosis at 5 months old has led to 3 years of stress and god knows how many hospital appointments and permanent damage to my child's health.
The Lavender Hill group practice on the other hand is wonderful. Pretty much guaranteed to be seen on the day, doctors who call you back within minutes and receptionists who are friendly and helpful and polite. Couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Lavender hill group practice. I have a baby with multiple problems, they couldn't be any more helpful. Appts almost on demand, hot line to the on call gp, email contact with gp for any minor queries, hour long appt when my baby was unwell, sorting out extra prescriptions through the receptionist....all completely unheard of at my previous one.

I completely agree with the previous posts on Lavender Hill Group Practice. We have been going there for over 3 years now, including through my two pregnancies, and they are absolutely fantastic. Really flexible and understanding, and very good with children. As previous posters have mentioned, you can speak to a doctor over the phone, they have always seen us on the day whenever our children were unwell, and they respond to emails very quickly. They are open for quite long hours, which has been helpful for us as we both work full time. I have also appreciated the fact that, when required, they called specialist consultants from the London hospitals to ask for further advice on some more complex matters. We are not originally from this country so don't have many other reference points but I have to say that I have been impressed that we could get such a good quality of service on the NHS.
