Balham Play Groups... Post Reply

I know I have seen a thread before but I was wondering if there were drop in playgroups in Balham. I have been trying to get on the waiting list at Balham Baptist, but are there any other options? Does anyone have info on Rissidan (spelling?) in Clapham?

Not sure on Balham playgroups, but Rissadan is fab!

Drop-in, Friday mornings, 2 sessions, either 9.45-10.30 (I think), or 10.45-11.30 (we go to the 10.45 session), in the Methodist Church (near Sainsburys) on Clapham High St. £6.50 per session, but first one is free as a trial.

The lady who runs it, Catherine, is lovely, and does music, , 'learning' about shapes/numbers/letters, (loosely!) a story, and there is always an art activity so you always take something home with bubbles and more songs etc at the end.

We love it and go every week.

There are several playgroups run at st stephens church on weir rd. Definitely Friday morning but check other days. Balham library has rhyme time on a Tuesday am and story time on other days. Tooting leisure centre has toddler gym every morning except Fridays. Sessions are 9.30-10.30 or 10.30-11.30. Or else there is a small playzone downstairs.

Happy Mondays at St Stephens on Weir Road has been recommended - my nanny goes with my little one (17 months old) It's 3pm-5pm for under 4's.

There's also a good playgroup on Thursday mornings - The Ascension Church on Malwood Rd (near Clapham South) - two sessions in the morning - I think 9.30-10.45 and 11-12.30.
