Where to go to dinner tonight?

Postby Soriano » Fri Dec 06, 2013 3:25 pm

Looking for a new restaurant to go to tonight. Preferably somewhere away from Northcote/Abbeville Roads where we always seem to find ourselves. Clapham old town maybe or Central London? Easily accessible by tube or bus is a plus and something casual as opposed to fancy (business casual is as dressed up as I feel like getting tonight.)

Anyone have any good suggestions? Thanks!

I was at L'Etoile last night - Charlotte Street and had a lovely time! Great to be in the centre of our fab city occasionally. Do beware the traffic in was awful, 45 mins in a cab. Other favourites of mine in the West end include Fino and Bamboo - also Charlotte Street - you can guess were I worked pre NVN :D

Or try Eight over Eight on the Kings Rd if you don't want to go quite as far.

Enjoy x

Bar Boulud at the Mandarin Oriental is really good! Casual, great food and service....

you're probably better off staying local because I doubt you'd get in anywhere decent in central London.

Boqueria on Acre Lane is really good. And I've never been but have heard good things about Upstars too

I know Saturday has passed and hope you found somewhere delicious!

The Chicken Shop has finally opened on Tooting High Street - down towards the traffic lights to St George's - I haven't tried it but if it's as good as the original in Highgate should be a hit :P

No reservation policy tho'...

We were at The Dairy in Clapham Old Town last night. Really enjoyed it but not a cheap night just so you know - :o

I took my partner to 'trader Vic's' in park lane hilton hotel on Saturday for his birthday. The service was great and food delicious with lots to choose from. A very busy restaurant with bar and live singer who was amazing. It's right next to Hyde park if you wanted to pip into winter wonderland first!

Again, I know Saturday is long passed but some places to try in the future which are local (fairly local):

http://www.albertstable.co.uk/

I know it's in Croydon but I love this place. it is also really easy to get to on public transport (5 mins from South Croydon and 10 mins from East/West Croydon) and the food is fab.

- Upstairs on Acre Lane is nice but very limited menu

- Brixton Village has loads of fab restaurants. I really like a Japanese place called Curry Ono.

To be honest, i don't like many of the restaurants around Northcote Road although the best I think is Soif on Battersea Rise (its sister restaurant near Charing Cross is very nice too http://terroirswinebar.com/)

If you want something in central London which are nice but fairly casual ie you don't need to be dressed to the nines, I really like the following:

- 10 Greek Street
- Zuma
- Wild Honey
