How many of those on chestnut grove? Zero.
Any main roads have accidents / deaths, its no worse than anywhere else. Thse changes on chestnut Grove won't make any difference to that.

Treadlightly, you seem to be informed on this. Can we have any clarification on the one way section of
Boundaries rd? Is there a plan somewhere? Also, whete are all thee cars meant to go? I kmow that I won't be able to access my own house if this is implemented and will have to detour, probably along rowfant road which I understand already has a massive problem due to other rd closures and this will only make it worse for them. Ditto all the rds off chestnut grove as traffic will be forced in that direction, no?

The Zebra crossings will make it much more pleasant for pedestrians and very much welcome but I am very sceptical about the timed road closures and the impact it will have on congestion on the High Road and its surroundings.
If anyone knows of how residents can object do please share how we can.

Only way to make a difference is to voice opinion to council, not on here.

I’m for zebra crossings, but to me the right hand turn restriction is only designed it be a cash cow.

This is the rest of the letter to accompany the map printed above - with whete to write to object!
It's being touted as helping schools bt it's clearly just to make money.
Note the 5 points they consider improvements, agree with 1 and 2, bt strongly object to 3,4,5!
Traffic will have to go along rowfant rd, up boundaries, across heslop, down sarsfeld and along balham pk rd to get to where they're going!
Its basically an LTN under another name?

interestingly Hornsby house school have previously asked chestnut grove school to go halved on lollipop person and chestnut grove said no!

The changes are great!  People will have to stop using Rowfant, Tunley, Boundaries etc as rat runs - they should stick to the main road and turn left at the traffic lights onto Chestnut Grove.  The back streets are residential and should not be used by loads of cars (lots of whom drive very badly) which makes these streets unsafe, inaccessible and unpleasant for residents.

hahaha, when cars come down Boundaries Rd & cant continue past Rowfant Rd do you think they'll magically disappear? No, they will go along Rowfant Rd! I believe there was already a problem there so imagine how much worse thats going to get & its only a small part of the problem with this.

There's hardly any cycles on Boundaries Rd, why wd they need to go there when there's a perfectly good segregated cycle lane on the main rd literally metres away for them to be safe. A few meters of cycle lane will make no difference to cyclists bt will compound the problem for everyone else.

the vast majority of the traffic (>80%) comes from the main road down Rowfant Road towards boundaries road and then towards chestnut grove.  the plans stop this which is great.  there will presumably be some people who usually come down boundaries road as you mention and then have to go down Rowfant Road but that will dry up very quickly once people know the one-way system and google maps/waze are updated.  people will stick to the high street which will be much better for people who actually live in these areas.
