The new Mexican on Abbeville Road is unfortunately really awful. Tasteless food and a manager with an attitude problem. BUT I recently had a delicious Japanese supper at Tokyo Retro, also on Abbeville Road. Slightly quirky, nice design and charming service. I wish we had something similar on Northcote Road. Hightly recommended.

Unfortunately I agree with BTC dad regarding the Mexican. I was sooo excited to have a local Mexican as I love it. After 2 visits I've definitely concluded that I'm not a fan of la commercial.

I have to agree with the above posters about the new Mexican on Abbeville Road - Comensal. We had really been looking forward to trying it out, but unfortunately we were hugely dissapointed ... it was really quite bad. Even the chips and salsa were bad. Our mains came out in 2 minutes after we ordered so its definitely not fresh made, which was all the more obvious by how dried out the meat was. We didn't finish any of our food. I so wanted it to be good! Such a shame :(

On the flip side the new posh fish and chips on Abbeville Road - Kerbisher and Malt is delish! I've already been there half a dozen times since they opened! x

We went to Sinabro based on the recommendations on this thread and we were not disappointed. I must say-if we hadn't read about it here we wouldn't have known the restaurant is there- therefore thank you for the tip. The food was amazing, the presentation excellent and the vibe of the space just great. We will definitely be going back. The only thing i think needs some improving are the deserts. Athough good they were not as amazing as our starter and main course...

Does anyone know what is going to be replacing Masa on Northcote Road? Fingers crossed for something good!

Sad to see that Entree on Battersea rise has closed and has been replaced by th Green Room. Not tried it yet, but it looks decent.

Sorry to rain on the parade here. Although SW11 has some of the best schools and houses the restaurants don't really come up to standard.

I've lived here for 8 years (St Johns Hill) and there isn't one single Michelin Star eatery. My advice head into town.

Four of us went to The Sylvan Oak in Earlsfield last weekend, on Garratt Lane, and were really pleased, it was a delicious meal - fine British dining but not over the top poncey, really good quality ingredients. Staff were lovely and friendly. Nice atmosphere and decor - on the quieter side, tables more spaced out than some of the really lively places others have mentioned, so not a place for raucous noisy dining. There were couples in there having romantic dinners, larger tables celebrating big birthdays and some family gatherings.

There were a number of dishes that I want to go back and try - namely all the starters and the rhubarb cheesecake. Think it was c £35 for 3 courses.

I equate it to somewhere like Lamberts which is one of my all time fave restaurants around here. The owner has a place in Findon in Sussex and this is a new venture. Will definitely be going back. The Leather Bottle is almost next door so good place to go for a drink before hand.

Tha Dairy by Clapham Common is fantastic. Some of the best food I've had in years. Smart but also very relaxed....very refreshing change to Chez Bruce.

I'll second London House. Great food - Chez Bruce standard I'd say. They were quite empty when we went in the summer and I heard someone went recently and it was also fairly empty so get on down there before we lose it!

Also the Thai Grocer on Garratt Lane is a place that I found on Annabel's recommendation. It's teeny tiny and BYO but the food is fab and it's run by a lovely guy. We take our (well-behaved!) kids and they love it.

Good Earth on Bellevue Road is fab - again our kids love it. It's not cheap but a great place for a family celebration as it's very stylish with great service and divine grub.

I like Brinkley's on the corner of Bellevue and Trinity Road. It's never that full either but the food is way better than the Bolingbroke, which I never fail to be disappointed by.

Also Mien Tay - Vietnamese on Lavender Hill if you're after a good cheap eat.
AA Gill liked it and if it's good enough for him....

Dairy, Bistro, Soif, Trinity, Tsunami, all favourites of mine for what that's worth!
Tex-Mex? Should only be eaten in those two places IMO

I would like to ask you to try Vito's situated at the end of Northcote Road. Your local Italian is family friendly and has just had a makeover with a brand new bar area and menu that hopefully will have something for everyone.

Being the New Manageress at La Pampa Grill I may be a little bias, however I think this will be great for you all to know, that we are now open for lunch and have an Amazing 2 course lunch menu for £10. Please check out our Facebook page for all our latest offers and events. https://www.facebook.com/pages/La-Pampa ... 374?ref=hl
Thanks
