What DO we want on Northcote Road??? Locked

I've been looking at opening a high end vegetarian restaurant and have been looking at these premises. £55,000 per year rent in this place on and another place for rent on Webbs Road for £18,000 per year. I'd much prefer to be on Northcote although with it being at the end of Northcote Rd I'm not sure if I'd be better on Webbs Rd???

I see All Bar One is up for sale. 4.7million!

minnie: My advice to you is that for a vegetarian restaurant passing footfall will not be particularly important and that, given the difference in rent, you should definitely go for Webb's Road premises over the Northcote Road one, all other things being equal.

No affiliation with the Spanish Deli on Webbs Road but ... I went for a coffee last weekend and they are SO lovely in there !! He bought us a few bits and pieces to try while we were having our coffee and I ended up buying some Jamon and it was delicious !!!
Just wanted to tell people about it as it would be great to support independent places like this. The rumour is that Susie Watson is going to be a Knight Frank... can't bare another Estate Agent on Northcote Road.

Knight Frank ?? SURELY not !? What more can we do to stop this, aside from petitions against change of usage - which clearly havent worked.

I absolutely hate the thought of having a street full of estate agents, what on earth is the point ? I would definitely consider moving away from the area in time if this keeps happening, and I'm sure I'm not alone.

It will kill the area (and joyfully their very business, but too late by then I guess for all who once enjoyed living BTC). Gloom.

Ok Susie Watson is to become a Fired Earth Showroom. You know floor/wall tiles, bathroom fittings, nice stuff.

A Fired Earth would be fab. Upmarket, nothing like it on Northcote Road and thank the man in the sky not another estate agent. My mum was racking her brains as to what we need - she doesn't live here but knows it v well - and she said a haberdashery! Age?!

The shop on Wakehurst, selling antique-ish items is closing too I believe. The shoe repair & key shop is becoming a patisserie soon. I wonder what we'll get........
