After school child care

I’m looking into the feasibility of having someone to pick up my kids from school and look after them until about 7pm each school evening. This will include cooking them a meal (so prep time before pick up would help). My kids are 11 yrs old. Occasional assistance during school holidays would be great also (eg the odd week of childcare). Location is Wandsworth Common, with my house being c10mins walk from each of their schools. Not needed immediately, but I’m just investigating options at the mo. Any guidance, referrals etc gratefully received. Thanks

Hi there

Your post rang a bell with me as I have been contemplating looking for work of this nature. I am not
a nanny, but a freelance writer and producer, mother of two grown-ups, an experienced tutor and a very enthusiastic cook. I generally do all of my work in the mornings, and it has occurred to me that there must be parents of older children who need after school pick-ups, homework help and nutritious well-prepared meals - and maybe enough for the parents too!

I live on the northside of Clapham Common and have been in this general area for over twenty years, have a car and could walk or drive to pick up kids.

I would really recommend our childminder who is in battersea and can easily come to Wandsworth Common. She’s great with children, good cook and has capacity at the moment. Our children do go to school now and I do most pick ups myself as I work from home. Her name is Anna Korca and I can provide a full reference for her. Her number is +44 7498 714409.
