Career Coaching - recommendations

Postby lostnextmove » Thu Aug 25, 2022 10:53 am

Im wanting to return to full-time employment after being a full-time housewife for many many years.
Have zero interest in my previous career.
Looking for career coach recommendations (looking at IT as an option).
Defiantly want to retrain etc

Has anyone been in this position?
What should my next step be?

Hi, I can highly recommend Orla Cahill who is a career coach in Balham. She specialises in women wanting to find new careers after a break and guiding you to new options. Just message me and I can put you in touch.

I can really recommend my friend Kate.

She is based around Reigate and her sessions often take place walking through stunning parks, heaths and woods.

really helps the mind.

I appreciate it’s big south london, but only a 30min train ride into Reigate.

google

airheadcoaching . com

she is also on insta

Alex Hodge (Hodges?) at Yugen coaching. She lives locally and was super helpful, practical and clever

Afraid I don’t know any career coaches but am a career changer myself, from marketing into tech. If you’re interested in the security side of IT, check out CAPSLOCK as they have a fantastic (but intense) reskilling programme (disclaimer that I used to be a mentor there so am possibly biased!). From personal experience, IT is an incredibly broad field and can be intense if you don’t have a passion that aligns with your day job, so would say to do some research and see if you can narrow down what exactly in IT you’re interested in or want to do. There are thousands of “bootcamps” around where you can do immersive courses to retrain quickly - whether CAPSLOCK or others, do your research and see if you can speak to graduates of the courses. I tried a Python coding course through Tech Talent Academy and I’m still angry at myself about the amount of money I wasted on it! 😭 I’m assuming you’re local to SW London, so happy to grab a coffee if you ever want to chat about options/experiences!

My friend Abby has worked in IT for an investment bank and is now changing careers to be a career coach. She has had a wonderful career herself balancing work and children and has the most wonderful personality to listen and advise. She's also had a great response so far and is offering discounted rates to get herself up and running. She's on 07734106608

If you're still looking for a career coach - I trained 15 years ago as a career coach specialising in helping people understand what they'd like to do and how to get there. Do contact me on lizsebag@hotmail.com if you'd like to have an initial chat.
